Cynthia R. Walker, BCTMB
My career in massage therapy began in 2006 when I enrolled in the massage therapy program at Pinnacle Career Institute in Lawrence. During my training at Pinnacle, I completed courses in Swedish massage, anatomy, physiology, medical massage, spa treatments, pre-natal massage, infant massage, and wellness. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Pinnacle, graduating with a 4.0 GPA.
I started my practice in December 2006, working out of my home. In May 2007, I opened my own massage studio in downtown Lawrence, and in October 2007 I earned a national certification in therapeutic massage and bodywork (NCTMB). In October 2008, I joined the faculty of Massage Therapy Training Institute - Wellspring in Lawrence, where I taught Basic Swedish Massage, Ethics, Communications, Business Practices, and Exploring Touch. I left Wellspring in December 2010 to devote more time to my practice.
I currently maintain a studio at my residence in North Lawrence. I live there with my husband Richard, our three cats (Patchouli, Arlo, and Nigel) and our two dogs (Teddy and Cosmo).
